GlobalFlyer moved into position at runway end

GlobalFlyer is now in position at the end of runway 17 at Salina Municipal Airport. Currently, the aircraft is being fueled. Departure is set for 6:16 a.m. CST (12:16 UTC). Web Updates will resume at 4:00 a.m. CST tomorrow. This blog will be updated continuously throughout the duration of the flight, so check back for the latest information. The web-cast is now available on the K-State at Salina GlobalFlyer website.

GlobalFlyer nearing takeoff

The Global Flyer is now on the runway and is being fueled. Takeoff is scheduled for 6:16 a.m. Tuesday morning. Coverage of Mission Control will begin tonight at 9 p.m. CST on Salina local Community Access channel 19, and will simultaneously be broadcast from the K-State at Salina GlobalFlyer website Pictures of takeoff will be available on the blog at approximately 7 a.m. tomorrow.

GlobalFlyer Web Update Team is in place

The Web Update Team is now in place in Mission Control in preparation for Steve's attempt at the Absolute Closed Circuit Distance record. Flight planning is underway as we move closer to launch date. Keep checking back for up to the minute updates on the progress of the preparations for the flight.
